Does anybody have a wiring diagram for a Peavey T-20? I just took a look inside and it appears a former owner has made some changes and i want it back all original. Thanks.

here is the manual : http://www.peavey.com/assets/literat...s/80370015.pdf
it looks like a standard i volume one tone set up... should look something like this: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support...gle_coil_pbass .... the colors of the wire are likely different but the black in the diagram is the positive wire and the white is the negative.

T-20- was that the single PUP T-40? If so, it's a standard volume control, but the tone control is wired so that from around 7 to 10, it taps the dummy coil of the 'bucker, but below 7 it works like a regular passive treble cut control.

I used to know how to wire that, but haven't done it in decades.

Nope, T-20 is just a standard volume/tone with the super ferrite pickup. The wiring should be pretty straightforward, as bassguitarded indicated.

Here's a pic of the T-20 I bought for my daughter awhile ago. It's a great bass.

Ah, that one! GREAT BASSES! Just like what Leo did with the P bass. Basic straightforward bass that was well built, reliable, and easy to both make and maintain. Yep, just a standard volume and treble cut circuit. Any wiring diagram or schematic for a single volue/tone set up will do the job. I musta been thinking of the T-45 maybe.

Yep, these are great basses. Definitely has a P-bass vibe to it.

And yes, the T-45 is the single pickup version of the T-40 with the funky single coil to humbucker wiring.

Theres a cap coming directly off the input jack thats odd and The wiring doesnt look original. It has the same setup as a P-Bass but i want to be sure that cap belongs. The bass is on the bright side and im wondering if the cap was put there to roll off some of the low end. Other than that its a great bass.

If you do go with a black pickguard make sure to post pics!
I got my T-20 a while ago (and I love it, by the way), and have been considering changing the guard but couldn't decided if I would like the look or not.

Hmm- I don't recall if that's a treble bleed cap (so that the tone doesn't get darker as you turn down the volum) or if it was there to and as a "fuse" for the string grounding. If it was mine, I'd make sure I could rewire back as it is, then just hook it up like a stock P bass. If you like it better without the cap, then leave it that way, otherwise it'll just take a few minutes to put it back in.
