I'm thinking about cutting up my old squire and installing a Talk Box. I got the idea when I saw my buddy's Duo Jet. The sound, I thought, was pretty great and wanted to hear it on a bass.

So my question is, has anyone ever tried this on a bass? Would it even be worth my time and money or is this something that people just don't do?

A talk box is a device that goes between your amp and speakers, it's actually a driver that funnels the sound through a tube that you then use your mouth to create the vocal sounds.

It doesn't care what plays through it, I've used bass, guitar and even a MiniMoog. No mods need to be done to any of the instruments.

So perhaps you mean something else when you say talk box?

Dirk

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought a "talk box" was a type of pick up as well as a voice modulation.

It's a box with a tube coming out of it that you put in your mouth.

This. It's the noise you hear when you listen to Peter Frampton.
