Taurus 4 String, Pickups

I've looked everywhere and keep coming to the same dead end... no answer. Is it possible to get replacement pickups of any kind for this bass? I've looked everywhere and all I get is, they are too long for standard pickups, which is good info, but it doesn't answer the question. Are there pickups out there that will fit aside from these ABTs that make me sound like a castrata bassist?

Bassist with no balls senor= Castrata Bassist. i read through that, but I was hoping I could find something that would not require anymodificatin to the body itself. I emailed washburn, so hopefully i'll get some more info and then I'll post it on the forums just in case some poor bastard like myself needs (wants I guess) to make the smae change in the future. Thanks again for directing me to those posts though. Didn't mean to sound like I was knocking your assistance, it got me to the edge, but I guess Washburn will be required to get me to jump...

Well, word from Tim at Washburn is to call Dimarzio or EMG, (measure the pups first) and see if they have something that will fit. That's gonna be fun fun fun 'til... anyway. I'll keep everyone posted. I guess that means like me and Vic_6. And since I'm the only person who is doing this, it'll probably only apply to me. Damn it. I should just take out a loan and buy the freaking Thunderbird IV

brandonsbass,

I use a Taurus as my backup, and I think it's a really decent bass for the money. Good looking bass, 24 frets, very playable neck, and good sustain, since it's a neck-thru. I would agree that the pickups are probably the weak point. They're a little down on output and tend to be quite noisy if the volumes differ only slightly between the two pickups.

I'd like it if you'd post an update on your findings.

I'll make sure to post all the info as soon as I get it folks. Unfortunately, it was abig day today, so the call shall have to wait 'til tomorrow. And I agree, the playability and brightness are both wonderful, I just want some rumble (that's why i play bass).
