Technical details for MM pickups

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everybody!
I would like to try to rewind the MM pickups of my MTD Heir 5. Does anybody know about the exact details of the most respected MM pickups (Nordstrands, Bartolinis, EMG-s, Delanos etc.)? I would like to know as much details as possible - the wire, number of coils and turns, resistance, inductance, magnets etc. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!
Margus

I don't like your chances on getting tech details, but maybe I'll be wrong. R, L and C I always measure myself anyway.

Yeah, I guess you were right! There's no any information available! I think there's no other way than trying different specs and see/hear what's happening.

Yeah, I think your best option is to read everything you can about the brands/mode;s you're interested in, then take a deep breath and guess which you'll prefer. You have as much chance with this method as any other of getting the tone you're looking for. Buy secondhand and if you don't like them, then you'll only be out any postage etc if you onsll them.

I'm planning on doing this myself a bit later as I have a new body (2xMM routs) coming for an old Ibanez neck I have and a pair of Bart MM p/u's.
