Testing "jig"

Hey All,
I'm been doing a rewiring job on my MM OLP, installing a Bart pre amp, battery box, switches, etc.
I have been having some problems with the wiring which I'm sure I will straighten out, but the problem is that almost everything is attached to the pick guard, and in order to do any work I have to remove all the strings, pull the pickguard,....you know the drill.
I was wondering if anyone has any simple way to replicate a vibrating string so I don't have to reinstall the guard, install the strings just to test.
Simpler is better.

Try the old fashioned tuning fork. The pickup will pick it up just like a vibrating string.
