Testing Pickups To See If They Work?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, a friend of mine found a old bass in his garage without strings or a bridge on it. Not sure what kind it is, but I was wondering if there is a easy way of testing to see if the pickups work without having to restring the bass, etc. Thanks

plug it in and tap the pups with a screwdriver. you'll hear a click if they work. if you dont hear a click, they could be dead/damaged or just need some wiring work.
