Just wanted to say thanks to SMASH and the great thread on pick ups for J basses. I have an '07 MIA Fender Jazz and added a set of DiMarzio Model J's. Wow! A real improvement. Nice rounded "vintagey" tone and more punch than the stock pick ups. Thanks SMASH and all who chimmed in with comments.
i use those on my fender classic 60. Also i use Chromes on that jazz bass as well. The tone is really warm and fat but the high is still clear as crystal.
