Maybe is a lame question, but I would like to know if there is any difference lets say for example between a 1974 and a 1976 pickup?

Thanks!

after 30 years or so there are so many variables that could cause two pickups to sound different. you could have 2 basses that came of the line within seconds of each other, same finish, wood, strings, everything and they won't sound the same.
