Is it affecting your playing technique? Might just have to raise the action on your strings. You could get new pickups that don't have exposed magnets - not the most cost effective solution though!

You might be able to if you open the pickup, but you could definitely screw something up if you do it wrong. Is it just driving you nuts cosmetically?

Its not affecting me aesthetically in any way, but my sound is all messed up, the A and D strings are much louder, even if i change the inclination of the pickup im unable to get an even sound from all my strings, i could raise the A and D string but thein i would lose the low action fretty growl i love.. i am willing to open the pickup and adjust it i just need to know how..

That sounds really strange that the A & D strings are louder than everything else. I think the pickup is screwed up and you should replace it. How new is it? Hopefully someone has a better answer than spending more money on the bass.

A and D polepieces are raised because the A and D strings are higher to follow the curvature of the fingerboard. Either your D and A strings are unusually low, or your G and E are way too high. If you want to keep it this way you will probably need a different pickup, I am not sure how the polepieces are connected or not to the coils, but some slide easy and you can push them in, but if they are in direct contact with the coils or connected to a bar magnet, you can't do it

What he said!
My 'Ray is the same same with the A and D pole pieces higher than E and G and volume is even across all strings (except for the common G string issue).
