there is some rust on pickup

hi,
there's some rust on my musicman sub pickup, how i can remove it??
this rust can change the sound??

it wont change the sound if you want it gone, first go buy some clear nail polish and some 500 or higher grit sand paper and go at it very lightly and once the rust is gone paint all the pickup poles with the nail polish and it wont happen again. be cafeful not to get the nailpolish on the plastic pickup cover it might cause the plastic to crack.

Use scotchbrite or wet dry sandpaper, regular paper can leave a lot of grit all over and it's hard to get out of crevices. Don't use steel wool as it will leave metal dust all over, that stuff is tough to get off the magnets.
