You need something like a Roland GR-33B bass synth and matching GK pickup module. You'd run a midi cable from the midi out on the GR-33B to the midi in of the NanoBass.

If you can find a used one, you're looking at maybe $400; new is roughly $800.

I have done this on guitar with a NanoSynth or Triton, and it works fine. In the year I owned it, though, I only actually used it in public twice. Playing and muting technique has to be really clean or the pickup reads all those little harmonics from muting or fingering sloppiness as triggers, and sends out weird bleeps and bloops.

Good Luck!
