Question Which of these 3..DM, NJ4, C60?

Ive read the Jazz bass pickups comparison stickie by smash. Very informative. Thanks so much . Ive narrowed my selection down to 3 to choose from that I feel will help my tone. DM Ultra Jazz, Nordi j4, Fender C60s.Which one of those pups will help me?

Note: I tried Fralins, no likey, and Im not trying to get caught up in finding and fighting over true relic vintage picups. Just lookin to start an upgrade.

My Bass- Fender MIA 75Jazz RI.

My intended Sound- I like the vintage sound of a J-Fender a lot. ..But I want a slight bit more balz behind it. I play finger style mostly and I like to "attempt" fast solos where I tend to dig in hard. I want to hear all those notes, somewhat.
And I like my highs to be creamy and my lows to be beefy and round, all flavored with that vintage fender jazz sound.
I know tone is personal. Im just lookin for someone to push me over the dge so I can try one of these pups finally.

Judging by your choices, i'd go the NJ4's (70's wind). I've tried fender '60s original (on RI's), NJ4's, and Lollars in my '62 RI jazz. I liked the NJ4's a lot, but they weren't as "true vintage". HOWEVER, they are probably the best out of your list. I haven't tried the 70's wind, but i wouldn't be afraid to try them simply because i loved the 60's [stock] wind on the NJ4's. Very balanced string-to-string, and very smooth all around vintage jazz PUP

Forgot to talk about the other pickups:

The DM ultrajazz's are humcancelling, so you won't have the same 'vintage' ness from the other two sets, which are single coils.

The CS60s i've heard are basically like the '62RI, except punchier and kind of "overwound".

Question

Does the fact that almost every clip on Basstasters sounds exactly the same to me indicate that Im not yet ready for upgrading pickups?

lol, no, it just means that all the rest of us starting threads/posting in pickup threads have too much time on our hands.

I like you Narud. I remember reading some of your posts during my research here. I like your style. And thats a good question. I don't have the adjectives to describe the Fralins but they definitely sounded different. I could distinguish them. They sounded good just not what I wanted. Actually the original pick ups in my bass sound quite pleasing at lower levels , however when I play out(gig) the tone seems to thin out at louder volumes. That's all I have to say about that.
