are these genuine custom shop fender jazz pickups?

Sign in to disble this ad
i am negotiating a japanese jazz bass and the seller says the one it wants to sell me, has custom shop pickups!

got a picture of those. the guy says they are from the fender custom shop (62 jazz pickups or something).

he says that the sticker in the side of the neck pickup is a proof that these pickups are in fact genuine. here is a picture, do you backup what the seller is telling me?

i just want to be sure before i commit to the purchase, although i haven't decided yet...

regards.

Both covers have CS stickers. That's all you can tell from that pic.

could be CIJ pickups with custom shop covers. not sure how to tell for sure. there might be a way, but just pay CIJ prices and then you're covered.

MIA magnets are about .188" (3/16") in diameter.

CIJ magnets are about .197" (5mm) in diameter.

so, from the pictures, no one can tell me for sure if these are in fact genuine.

i will ask the seller to measure the diameter of the magnets then. maybe send a picture with a ruler also.

thanks for the information
