Are these passive or active?

May be a stupid question but I cannot find anywhere whether the pickups on this bass are active or passive. I want to get this bass and upgrade it, but I can't replace the pickups without knowing what kind of pickups they are.

Passive. It's Volume, Volume, Tone, just like a passive Jazz bass.

Very few pickups are active, and if the bass did have them, it would be advertised as such.

If you want active pickups, nothing is stopping you from putting them in though. Just make sure you have the right value pots, since the output impedance will be lower.
