Are these quarter pounders?

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought these on Ebay a few months and they were advertized as 1/4 pounders they say duncan preformers on them, are they? I'm putting together a parts bass and was wondering if I shold put these in vs a set of fender p bass pick ups I have . I already have an active jazz and I want a bass with a deeper growl.
Thanks for your help.

I don't think they are unless the design was markedly different in the past. The QPs have the big 1/4 inch pole pieces, correct?

Right, that's why they're called quarter pounders. Quarter of an inch. Those aren't quarter pounders. What you have is a cheaper pickup that was made overseas to Seymour Duncan specifications.

+1

Ask for a refund as you were sold an item with incorrect information. If they dont give you the refund they can be banned from eBay!

I'd be concerned about a few months going by and trying to prove that you got the wrong thing.

I have a set of quarter pounders where the guy replaced the plastic covers on them. The holes for standard p-bass pole pieces are smaller then the big pole pieces on the quarter-pounders.

If in doubt, you can take the covers off of them and measure the pole pieces.

If still in doubt, you can call Seymour Duncan. In my experience they've always had really good customer service. I told them that I wanted replacement black covers for my quarter pounder, because I didn't like the fact that the covers I bought them with, had holes too small (purely a cosmetic issue).

They sent me replacement stock covers for no additional charge!
