thinking about a bass humbucker....

so i have i p-style fraken-bass that i do everything to, and was thinking about putting a humbucker in the bridge position.

is this a good idea? it has a 1/4 pounder right now.

i'm not really sure yet, i'm looking for a sound suited to punk playing. i list matt freeman and paul simonon as influences. so probably something hot and aggressive.
