thinking of dropping another Nordstrand MM4.2 in my bass

Sign in to disble this ad
i've got a black & maple Fernandes, that's my #1 stage/beater bass. it has a MM4.2 in it with a .1mfd cap wired directly to the jack,, ( sounds freakin awesome ) i have a GEB-7 & vol pedal on my pedalboard & get HUGE tones outta the thing

but,,, i love modding things

so i'm thinking of dropping in another MM4.2 in it ( as the thought behind it is,,, one-good,, two-better ) ( & besides, Sterling Ball does it )

would you ? & if so,, where would you place it ?

i like that pickguard and sticker too much to want to ruin it with another pickup but i would put it relatively close to the first one like an L-2000 if you must do it.

was also thinking of routing it so that the pickup would be directly in front of the existing one, the existing pickup it a tad too far towards the bridge to cop the true stingray tone, but if i drop in another like almost touching, i'm sure this thing would be a monster.

also thinking of dropping a pre in it, especially with all the wiring possibilities with two pickups, which brings up another question, 2, 3, or 4 band, ala bongo,,, & which brand ?
