Thinking of going Nordstrand DC- Bridge, Big single - Neck Thoughts? Preamp help!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone,

As the title says... thinking of going with a DC in the bridge and a big single in the neck for the Carl Thompson Fretless I'm going to order right away.

My Question is... How does the DC sound when split, and how will it match up to a big single in the neck?

Anyone used this combination before? I'm wanting some really warm rich tones out of the neck pickup, but I'd like a little more output and more mids from the bridge, so I figured a DC would do the trick.

Also, what seems to be the best preamp to use with these pickups? I see alot of people use these passive, and others seem to lean towards the Audere.

I'm wanting mostly fat, vintage tones, but I wouldn't mind being able to shape my mids/bass onboard a bit. A parametric mid + bass would do wonders for me....as I very rarely want more/less top end, so that's not really a help to me.

Thanks!

I'm curious about this as well. Has anyone out there tried it?
