I am looking to get this sort of sound http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPc8QpqqM5g
i was looking at bartolini pickups or model j's paired with an audere probably.
i just like a nice fat funk sound
any suggestions are welcome as at the moment my mim jazz sounds a little weak, although the dha vt2 custom (tube) pedal i hav helps a lot i just want to get the bass sounding good in itself
thanks |

But surely if my pickups are rubbish then a preamp is gonna only improve on that a bit?! i dont have that much money to spend either! |

| | | | bartolini CB series are great man other option is nordstrand jazz or split jazz if you want a zero buzz pickup mmm fralin are great but more vintage vibe (vintage as a good thing) aero jazz are very agresive very nice sound for slaps.....delano but they are expensive....mmm and for a pre a good pre the retro preamp is great audere is impresive and very usefull |

I am just going to go with new pickups for now i wil go and ask on the british forum where they know more about the wizzard pickups, as they are just simple good quality single coils for a reasonable price |

I'd tried Model J's and ultra J's but these are in a different league.
I can't recommend them highly enough. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
