Thoughts on Morch Pups and preamp?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have been searching for some new Jazz pups for my Fender Marcus Miller bass. I came across Morch pickups after researching one of my favorite bass sounds(Mike Gordon's Languedoc Dragon Bass) I found a set of Tube Stacker pups for J bass and was wondering what people thought of these. Do you need their preamp for them to work properly?

There's soundclips on his site: www.morch-guitars.dk
As far as I know, his p.u's work perfectly without preamp, but he suggest his onboard pre as enhancement of the tone.

He makes great pickups. I once had him make me a couple for my pre-Gibson Tobias. A definite improvement over the barts IMHO

i have a mørch bass with the stacked j/humbuckers and it sounds amazing. it also has his pre in there which runs on 18 v. extremely clear is the best way i can describe the sound.
