Throwing out my blend pot! your input is requested

I have a Modulus Quantum 6 with NS2TMB-18 - 3 Band 18 volt Preamp.
The blend pot sucks! (IMO)
I want to change it individual volume control for each p/u
Question:
1. what are the pros and cons to leaving the master volume and putting a stacked volume pot where the blend pot was vs removing the blend and master volume pots and replacing them with two individual volume pots?
Are there any wiring tips that you can give me so I avoid a bid mistake?
