Question Tone Circuit Question

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello everyone,

I have a squier affinity p-bass, and i thought it was time for an upgrade, but i dont have enough money to buy a new bass, so i thought i would try to upgrade the bass as best i could.

I didn't buy anything yet, and i'm asking different ppl for their advice on what exactly i should get. First off I'm hoping to buy the Seymour Duncan Basslines SPB-3 Quarter Pound pickups, and i'm pretty sure they are compatible with my bass(someone please confirm)...next i would like to buy the Badass II Bass Bridge(i know its irrelevant to this topic)....and lastly..i would like to buy the seymour duncan stc-2(or 3, not sure yet)tone circuit for passive pickups... the question i have is i'm not sure exactly how i could put this tone circuit in...first of all when i opened up my bass i didn't see one in there and it doesn't look like there is much room for one if i decide to buy it...second, its description says it comes with 3 tone controls(for stc-2) and 4 tone controls (for stc-3) either way i dont know how i would install this seeing as my bass currently only has 1 master volume control, and 1 master tone control...if there is a way to install this can someone please tell me how..also, would i have to drill more holes in my pickguard....also if there is a way to install this can someone send me some kind of wiring diagram if not i'm sure there will be one included with the tone circuit.

Sorry for my lack of knowledge in this topic, and sorry for writing a whole essay for a question.

Thanks in advance...any replies are greatly appreciated.
