Tone control is cutting out.

I just switched out a pickup in my squier and now my tone pot is functioning kind of funny. It works fine until I roll off all the treble and then it cuts out completely. There is no signal at all when the tone is all the way down.

Has my pot gone bad? is this somehow a wiring problem?

Anyone had this problem before?

The probability of the pot having gone bad in the time frame of your mod is remote at best while the probability you've miswired the bass in the process of swapping pups is likely - especially given it sounds like the pot is grounding out the pup signal.

Fender has diagrams on their site you can check you're wiring against. You probably also need to find out the wiring code of the replacement pup.
