Tone knob cuts volume off when fully counter-clockwise

Hey forum,

New to the talkbass community (bass and tele player here). I've got a question concerning my jazz bass.

I recently dusted off my old MIJ Fender Fretless Jazz Bass. I stopped playing the thing and I reemeber that the last time I played it, it would randomly short-out. The pole on the oringial PUs had lots of rust, so I decided to replace the PUs with new Fender jazz bass PUs.

After rewiring the control plate, I noticed that the tone knob (little knob) would cut the volume entirely when rolled all the way to the off position. Can someone tell me what is wrong? I tried to wire like a 75 AVRI jazz bass.

Thanks!
