trim pot question
 

I have been building a couple of stingray clone/copies. I wired a tonepump in one(older non-trim version). Sounds awesome....but the output is ridiculous. I cant turn the volume past 1/2 or it distorts my pre horribly.
So my question is what value of trim pot do I need to insert? And where in should it go? Between tonepump & vol pot? After pump before output jack? Between pup & tonepump?

Put the trimmer between the preamp and output, and don't ground the third terminal. Use whatever value gives you the proper ranger of adjustability across the taper. Perhaps 25k.
