I was moving my Dimarzio pick-ups over from a bass I was selling to another project bass. The hot glue came off of one side of the bridge pickup and the magnets shifted around. I took the cover off and everything looked intact on the bobbins. I lined up the magnets where they used to be on one side and reapplied hot glue to the side that needed alignment.
Once everything was wired up the bridge pick-up can be heard on E, D & G string poles though at about 1/10th the volume, while the A string poles have such slight output that they're almost imperceptible.
I reversed the phasing and got the same result. I'm using the Audere preamp, so there is no issue of soldering joints. Can this be remedied or is it possible that they have been damaged beyond repair? There isn't any visible damage to the bobbins or the magnets themselves.
The neck pick-up has no problems and sounds perfect.
I will also be trouble-shooting the preamp with another pick-up as well, though it seems more likely that its the pick-up that came apart.
I can borrow a multi-meter from a friend and intend on doing so this evening.
