Sound very similar to a SD Basslines "vintage" PU to me..
A lot better than MIM to my ears..IMO
Pretty hot ...and accentuates the highs and kind of "scooped" |

"Duncan Designed" means they're based on duncan's design and built by someone else... often in korea, taiwan, etc etc etc. In other words, they're not 'real' duncans. Some like them, some don't.
Which can be said for about every pickup out there. Whether you should upgrade or not depends entirely on your personal taste which no one can predict. Especially on a web forum. |

According to SD, the line was developed for OEM use in instruments that cost less than $800, while the regular Duncans are designed for instruments over $800. The Duncan Designed are made in Korea instead of the US, but are have the same design as their more expensive brothers.
I've had guitars with DD pups in them. The humbuckers are outstanding. I've also found the bass pups to be excellent quality as well.

If you want more low-end and mids go with something like the SD "hot" . |

i`ll try if i learn how to solder |

The only reason they get bashed is because you can't buy em separately and only come with Squier basses. I bet most people dissing them have never even tried them! |

I am sure there are better pickups out there (isn't there always something better?), but I really like the sound I am getting with these ones.
Good Luck! |
