Question Used Alembic pickups value?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,
I hope this isn't a tacky question, but I have a set of J-style Alembic pickups w/ electronics I bought for my Jazz bass around 1984 that I'm ready to part with, and was curious if anyone could help me in determining their value. Both the pickups and electronics are in very good shape and I simply didn't know if these retained any value.

Thanks so much

New, a set of Alembic Activators like yours would fetch at least $700 (discounts vary). If yours are completely functional, they should get something in the $300 range (or maybe a little better). Assuming they work OK, without issues, you could fairly make the point (in your ad or marketing speil) that Alembic uses virtually bulletproof, military spec components in everything they build. Therefore, 1980's Alembic will have held up way better than anybody else's 1980s stuff.

Yep, 'bout 3 Bens (2-3) with the pre - though they've been going for more the last month. The older green tinted jobs pull a little more for some reason.

Looks like someone may have clipped the clips off those J's to install then without the pre. Some shrinkwrap will clean them up and probably get you more bucks.
