Variax/Piezo/Neodymium

I figured this might be the right place to ask. I'm never in here though TBH.

Just asking if it could be done:
Variax electronics taken out of the original Line 6 body and put in a new custom bass. Then have a separate line from the piezos that would go to a Rick Turner preamp.

Also could have nedoymium pickups that go into an Audere preamp.

Could the whole separate nondigital piezo thing work with also having the digital Variax electronics?

Could any or all of these be blended?

Could all of these be powered with the cable/DI that the Variax is powered with?

You need to check out midirose a guitarist from Willingboro, NJ -- which I think is near Philly.

...and it's cocobolo.

The pickup and Audere part would be easy. Not so sure that splitting the piezo signal is possible. Summing everything to a single output would be a pain. You'll also have a lot of knobs on the bass and it's likely to be extremely heavy. The biggest downside is that it will be expensive to do and in the end you'll have a bass with little resale value compared to what you put into it. Be careful trying to do too much with one instrument. It rarely turns out the way you want.

Just a thought...

Ah, nice connection! Cocobolo is my favorite wood... that or Ziricote.

Like I said in the first post, I was just asking if it could be done. I realize that I really would never use and definitely never need the tonal options of an Audere preamp along with the Variax electronics along with a natural piezo sound. I was just wondering I guess If you could really split a piezo signal and how hard would it be to reuse the Variax electronics.

I love Variaxes but I'm lefty. The line of thinking of getting a new body changed to getting a new bass... changed to getting a lot of stuff.

Thanks for your help.
