Question Very odd buzz

Sign in to disble this ad
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I didn't know if this should go in pickups or repair.

Anywho, My Schecter Stiletto Custom-5 has had this buzz since I really got it 1 1/2 years ago. Lately it has really been getting on my nerves. Therere two things that really confuse me about this.

1.When I turn up my treble/boost knob, it will get a stronger buzz, when I turn down the knob to 0 the buzz stops. New pot time?

2.If I'm facing away from my amp and I'm facing my body towards 1 o'clock the buzz stops. Any other direction I face my body I will get buzz. It's like the angle of the bass affects the buzz. New pickup time?

The bass is active, so this may have some affect to it.

The slightest bit of help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it is picking up noise. The angle will effect this along with turning up the treble. Is the bass shielded? This is where I would start. You can shield with paint or copper tape. You need to do the entire control cavity and may also want to do the pickup areas. All the grounding needs to be connected together and tied to circuit ground.

The whole cavity is shielded with paint, and the plate has a cover on it, but I'm no sure on the pickups.

If I took a picture, would this help? What should I take the picture of?
