Victor Wooten using new pickups?

Sign in to disble this ad
I know over in the Fodera Club thread they had mentioned Victor trying out new pickups for a new model bass they are building for him, but it might actually look like he's using Delano pickups in this vid:

Can anyone confirm?

No idea how you can tell those are Delano's! All i can see is a blur of PJ

If you look at this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7g7-V...eature=related
there is a close up on the pickups and i cant see the usual Delano written on them.

Maybe the same P/J's on the NYC5 deluxe on Fodera's instruments for sale site? Still sounds like a Monarch.

I guess you're right, I guess it looked like the big single pole pieces on the P pickup that I associate Delanos with. Thanks for the vid. I actually enjoy the sound of the passive pickups with his new Hartke Rig, they balance well. I also enjoy the sound of his EMGs through the warmer Ampeg rig as well.

Vic is working with us on a number of different variations. Thus far they are all still active pups. A final design has not yet been determined...stay tuned!

Wow, there are sure some interesting goings-on around Fodera such as Pope's Victor's and Garrison's.
When can we see such lovely things and NEW website?

Thanks !

his compito 5 and 6 string basses have barts on them and he's used them since he started with bela fleck, and he sounds pretty much the same on them as his foderas. how do you reconcille your statement and that?

I reconcille my statement by saying that most of his recordings and performances are made with monarch basses with pj emg pick up.

he started with bela maybe at the beginning of the 90's but he played his fodera monarch with pj emg pu since 1983... and continued to do so until now...
