Villex P Bass Pickups

Sign in to disble this ad
I just had Villex P Bass pickups installed and I am very pleased with their sound. All Villex pickups come with a built in mid-tone circuit and an external pot which allows to gradually change the sound character from vintage to slap. This is the last mod on my MIM P Bass. I had new tuners and a Moses graphite neck put on as well, but these Villex pups are icing on the cake. They still keep true to the sound that makes a P Bass great, but they also allow for some more tone shaping possibilities, which is always nice. They have a very strong output for passive pups too fwiw. I was playing them today through ch 1 of an Epifani UL-502 into a Berg HT112 and they sounded great...can't wait to pump them through the Aguilar DB751/Berg HS410!! I haven't taken this bass out to a gig yet, as they were just installed yesterday, but I will post my thoughts after I do. I will post a pic in the near future as well.

Here is a pic...sound to come soon. These pups are nothing short of amazing...they make my P bass sound so full, even and rich. The mid tone pot just adds more tonal options at your fingertips, but also allows you to get that classic P bass goodness too and the output is very strong. They have sounded great through my Epi UL-502/Berg HT112 Stack and also through my buddies DB 751/Berg HS410. I am very pleased with these pups so far.

I am glad to hear that other TBers have tried Villex pickups and are happy with the results. I've replaced the PJ Alembic pickups and electronics on a 4str US Guitars and replaced them with Villex pickups and electronics, early this year. I cannot be happier with the tonal transformation of the bass. Need to get some pics though

Just checking in to see if you have any sound clips yet!
