So i've had the Split P for about less than a year and I actually really like it. But for some reason a guy like me can get a little bored really easily so I'm kinda looking for sort of a more vintage sounding pickup compared to the Split P. Any suggestions? I've read some threads and the conmments usually mention the Seymour Duncan SBP-1 or a 62 Fender RI pickup. Any comments on those? And are the output of these vintage pickups really low or do they cut through the music just enough?
Output is not the issue. Tone is. If you want output, but with a more "traditional" appearance, then the SD Quarter-pounder is similar to a DiMarzio Split-P. If you're going actual tonal traditional, the Fender '62, the Lindy Fralin, or the Seymour Duncan vintage.
