Vintage est 96 ( musicman copy ) upgrade

Hi , how are yas ? Im new to bass and new to this site . I just posted this same message in the luthier section and then saw this specific section . Ive been a drummer for about 15 years , played a bit of guitar too , but recenlty discovered exactly how awesome bass is . I have a VINTAGE EST96 ( musicman copy ). It has 3 band active eq plus volume so 4 control knobs in total . It has wilkinson wsm 4 humbucker at the moment .

My 3 questions are :

1)I would like to be able to switch the guitar between active and passive using a push / pull pot with one of the existing tone knobs .
possible ?

2)I would like to be able to split or tap the coil , also with a ush / pull pot on an existing control knob .
possible ?

3) Would I need to upgrade the tone circuit / pre amp etc along with all the above ?


I saw there's a bartolini humbucker that can be taped but it mentioned upgrading the tone circuits .

Thanks for your time , if my terminology is off , its cos im a drummer new to bass !
