Vintage P Bass w/Maple Fretboard Pickup Question

i recently aquired a 78 p bass with a maple fretboard in a trade. and it has a non original pickup that i cant identify that im not a fan of. i was curious if anyone had any suggestions on a pickup that would make my maple 78 sound as beefy as the 78 i have that has a rosewood fretboard. the rosewood still has the original in it. im into a really fat boomy tone, and with the maple it would have a good amount of grind.


my amp setup is a Verellen Amplifiers Meat Smoke w/an Ampeg 8x10
