Vintage P with Basslines pickup buzz/humm

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got a nice old Fender P bass with a basslines pickup installed. The bass is very noisy when plugged in, especially if my fingers touch the exposed pickup poles... I thought it might be an earth problem but the earth wire is fine and sitting nicely under the bridge, I am not great with pickups, all I can say is that all wiring is secure on pots etc, maybe someone knows a solution, I love the bass and it sounds great apart from the buzzing...not too noticable at louder volumes but slow down to a ballad or whatever and its awful...
