Vintage Pickup Rewind - Recommendations

Sign in to disble this ad
Thinking of rewinding my long dead original 71 jazz pickups, now considering either Lollar or Fralin. No particular winding requirements, same spec as they are.

Anyone with good/ bad experiences would like to share and any other recommendations on who to go to?

Thanks in advance

I had a great experience with Lindy Fralin when the treble coils went out on my 60 P bass. He took the pickup and also asked for sound clips of the bass and the end result was perfect, like nothing had happened. Turnaround time was just a few weeks as well.

"J" pickups discussion and comparisons.
some of my pickup journey is noted above. i currently have an antiquity 2 neck pickup in my 62 jazz and am using a set of antiquity 2's that were unwound slightly by the custom shop.

the use the right materials, the right wire, and they get the right sound. they get the farty quality when you dig in that i didnt hear as much from other companies stuff.

+1

He rewound the single coil in my '55 when the output dropped to zero a number of years ago. Sounds like it always did: great.

Thanks to all you guys,

Made up my mind and my pickups are on their way to Duncan's custom shop.

BTW, Duncan email reply was almost instant.
