Vintage Precision Pickup

Hey,

I have a 50's Precision bass that's made in Mexico. As of now, it's completely stock. I have been thinking about changing the pickup. I had posted a thread here about 2 months back when I got the bass and some of the people who commented on that thread said that they had swapped out the pickup.

I have been thinking about doing the same. I am using DR Sunbeams strings on the bass and would like a warm full bodied tone.

Which pickup should I go in for?

Thanks.

Those are nice basses! I would recommend flatwound strings first and foremost

Have you tried searching for suggestions? There must be 1000's of vintage tone threads.

Yes, I think flatwounds are great. But I do like Nickel strings. Also, I have gone in for DR Sunbeams because I like the fact that they're the smoothest rounds. YMMV, but I like them

Yes, I did go through some of the threads here.

The Seymour SPB-1 gets a lot of love around here, as do the Fender 62 and the Lindy Fralin's.
