Violin bass replacement pups.

I was wondering whether there were any replacement pickups for violin basses. Also are there any pickups that just fit the string spacing (not direct replacement).

So my question is, what pickups are that will fit a violin bass?

Thanks

What are the dimensions of the pups you're looking to change?

I think it's about 7cm x 3cm. I can find out later, they're mini humbuckers anyway, I'm sorry this isn't much help.

They sound like they're guitar mini-HB sized. When you measure them, check against this;

There are lots of guitar pickups that sound great as bass pickups. I've used a number of the rail type Start pickups in shortscale basses. Similar rail type HB's must be available too, just never really checked. You can buy plain HB covers and pot the Strat types such as DM Fast track 1 in with silicone.

I think they're the exact same dimensions of the Les Paul Deluxe Mini Humbucker in the PDF.

Does anyone know if there are any other pickups I could use, other than mini humbuckers. I don't mind if it requires routing etc.

I bought a Rogue violin bass and replaced the pickups with EMG Select humbuckers. I had to do a bit of work, since the Selects were slightly bigger, but the sound was much improved, and I used the bass on many gigs.
