Virgin Pickup install Help: SDs to Audere Preamp

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok so i'm installing pickups for the first time and just need to check Something.

SD (hot stack for Jazz) instructions have Black, Green, Red White and uncovered wires. Green is ground and according to their diagrams gets paired with uncovered while red and white get paired and taped.

Audere's instructions refer to Hot and common which i assume is black and green/uncovered respectively.

Can someone comfirm or correct this for me please?

Hmm..

Your uncovered is probably a strip of copper on the bottom of the pickup. Combine that with the bridge ground when you make that connection or do not connect it at all. I would assume that should be grounded though, and the audere does not ground the pickups at all through the common or hot. That is solely done through the bridge ground and out to the jack.

The black is your Hot then.
Green is your common.

So just to be sure..

Combine your uncovered and bridge ground to the audere crip connector.

Green goes to the Common.
Black goes to hot. Combine and connect your Red and White wires, I recommend Soldering them.
