VM Jazz vs. Deluxe V Active pickups

hi there.
i'm going to buy my first bass and i've decided it will be either VM Jazz or the Deluxe V active both from squire. however i've read a lot about the duncan pickups being good for he price, and so i'd like to know if they're much better than the ones in deluxe v active, cause i like 5 strings!

Can't go wrong with either, the VM with the Duncans will give a vintage tone, where as the Deluxe V will give a more modern tone.
