Vol/Tone Vol/Tone-Most Versatile Passive Setup?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

Right now I'm interested in Stacked knobs (ala 60's Jazz Basses) With two different tones (Dark and Special Tone). Is this the most versatile passive set-up? Or are Varitones better? Or is this all just opinion!??

Thanks,

-Roy

Well certainly it's all just opinion, but there are more passive options out there than what you listed. There are many ways to spec a passive filter. A varitone for example is not just increasing amounts of rolloff, like a stepped tone pot; it's instead a set of very different filters. Then you get into things like Villex systems which are passive filters taken about as far as they can go in terms of variety and versatility.

For my parts bass I have 1 volume , 1 tone & a 4 way switch 1-bridge , 2- parallel , 3-series & 4- neck
the parallel is what a Jass bass is the series is what a Persion bass is

Hmmm, I think I really want the passive mid boost they make.
