With volume all the way down, sound still leaks out

I removed my TonePump from my Spector Euro, and replaced it with an EMG BQC control - followed the instructions and had no problem with the installation (the bass has EMG TW soaps in it with push/pull volume knobs for each pickup to switch between single and dual coil).
The new pre sounds great but when I roll off the volume on both pickups, sound is still leaking through?? I checked all of my connection and everything looks correct (no solder points touch nor are there any solder splashes anywhere. I did notice that boosting and cutting any of the eq on the BQC will have a direct effect on the signal while the volume is rolled off.

Any ideas on what may be going on?

thanks,
Jon

Any time there is signal with the volume pots rolled all the way down, it is a clear indication that they are not grounded properly.

I just went through this last week, line6man is correct. I had a cold solder joint on one of my grounds.
