Volume and Blend Pots for Warwick LX5 + OBP-1

Sign in to disble this ad
My bass is a '99 Warwick LX-5 with stock MEC JJ pickups and MEC electronics. I would like replace the electronic with Aguilar OBP-1 while keeping the stock MEC pickup.

Any ideas what would be the Volume and Blend Resistance Value?
How would I distinguish if pickup is active or passive?

Please let me know, thanks!

gold MEC lettering on the pickup = active. Pickups connected to battery, or more than three wires, active.

Silver lettering = passive.

IIRC, the LX comes with active MECs.

As for the resistance values, Aguilar recommends using the original pots, which are likely 250K to 500K.
