Volume difference in pickup balance knob

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I thought that luthiers would have the most knowledge on this.
I've recently replaced my pickups , but left the old preamp. The balance knob worked as it should, but somehow now the overall volume increases as i turn it toward a pickup mix of 50/50 . How can this be fixed, and also what is the cause for it?

Any ideas welcome.

If you switched from single coils to humbuckers, this is normal.
What preamp is it ?

I've had EMG HZ's in an LTD F-255 and replaced them with MEC MM pickups... The preamp is an active B-64 by EMG too.

Not sure because I've always experienced the opposite of this, the volume decreases the closer you get to the detent. EMG has a blend pot that is made to counteract this. It may work in your case, or you sould email them.
