Question Volume pot problem

Sign in to disble this ad
When I turn my volume knob all the way up, the signal cuts out. Does this mean that the wiring on one side of the pot isn't solid or is the pot itself faulty?

Could be either or both. Has any work been carried out on your bass recently?

Yeah, sorry forgot to mention, I'm modding this bass and recently did some rewiring, but as far as I can tell it's all wired correctly.

You may have possibly overheated the pot with the soldering iron which can cause damage. You should use just enough heat to get the job done well. If you soldered on that pot and it immediately started doing this then there's your issue. Replacing the pot would fix that if you don't overheat the new one too.
