volume/tone stacked pot?

Sign in to disble this ad
hey guys. I've spent the last hour searching TB and googling, but maybe I'm not getting it right. does a stacked pot exist that can be used for volume/tone? I am going to be sticking an EB-0 Mudbucker in my bass and running it to it's own output jack to run it stereo ALA Billy Sheehan's "Wife" (http://www.billysheehan.com/gear/instruments_34.html). I already have an EMG P/J set in my Ibanez GSR190 at the moment, and I'm going to add a mudbucker in right at the neck position so I can split the highs and lows. but in effort to save space (because there isn't a whole ton of room in the cavity), I'd like to use a stacked pot for the mudbucker's volume and tone. does this exist? and if so, anyone know the difference between a regular stacked pot and v/t pot? also, where can I buy one?

I'm not really sure what you are asking here.
There is no such thing as a "V/T pot" or whatever. Volume and tone are configurations in which you can wire the potentiometers, but they can be used for any application you want.

Get a regular dual concentric 250K/250K A/A taper pot and use one "layer" as a volume and the other "layer" as the tone.

FWIW, regarding the pairing of the Mudbucker with EMGs, normally you cannot use the two pickups (Well, in this case three.) together, as there would be an impedance mismatch between the active and passive pickups, however, I have been IMing with the OP and he apparently will be running them on separate outputs that will not combine together.
