Vox Pup replacements?

Sign in to disble this ad
It looks like I have issues with one of my pups on my Vox hollowbody. any suggestions on replacements. i really like the ric sound, so i was thinking ric pups?? i love the neck on this bass, just need to update the pups. looking for a vintage warm sound with plenty lowend.

this bass has already been altered a bit so i dont mind cutting into the body if i have to, just need a good sound for relatively cheap and i think replacing is my only option...

Wow I dont know what the heck would fit in there. Maybe a replacement for a 51 style Fender P? A SD quarter pounder or something like that maybe?
Look up "Phantom Guitar Works" in Seattle (I think?) They make Vox-style instruments, maybe they have pups that would work? I think they used Kent Armstrongs at one point, could be wrong tho'.
