VP Villex pickup?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have decided that I am going to purchase VP villex pickups to install in my mim p bass. Do any of you have these pickups, what do you think of them. Also, are they going to be easy to install in my p bass? I really don't want to make any other modifications to my bass. THX, peace

I own a bass with a Villex PJ combination. Easy to install just like any other pickup (just follow the diagrams).

Full organic tone is what you get (not muddy at all, though). By using the mid-control and the tone pot you get many tonal possibilities (esp when compared with just a volume and tone control). You will not get the aggression and glassy highs of EMGs, but a very broad sound, with good output, expanded range and great S/N ratio. There is a youtube clip of a bass with Villex pickups. I will try to find it

Here's a full demo of the Villex P and this one in a song setting fitted into a Lakland Bob Glaub. This one is Villex's own demo.
