Want to go true passive on my Fender, but...

Sign in to disble this ad
I traded to get a USA Fender Jazz w/ J-Retro a few years back. I would like to try all passive on it, remove the J-Retro, but I don't have the original control plate, it came with the J-Retro when I installed it. Does anyone sell pre-assembled control plates, preferably with high-grade components? Something I could just solder the pickups and bridge to, and go? Thanks.

Fender sells replacement Control plates with the pots and everything already on it. all you gotta do is solder the pickups to the pots and ground to the bridge.

I bought one a year or 2 ago. I hope they still sell them.

I used these guys for my bass. Fantastic quality:

CTS pots, Switchcraft jack, I picked the push pull series parallel and love it, and I picked the Vitamin Q capacitor because I am semi-old-school. They wire it up the way you want with the parts you want and send it to you on a switchplate.

I highly recommend them.
